The project is delighted to welcome\u00a0Sir Michael Marmot<\/strong>, Professor of Epidemiology at University College London and immediate Past President of the World Medical Association, as its first public lecturer.<\/p>\n

Sir Michael spoke on the role of status in health inequality, drawing on his books,\u00a0The Health Gap: the challenge of an unequal world<\/em>\u00a0(Bloomsbury: 2015) and\u00a0Status Syndrome: how your place on the social gradient directly affects your health<\/em>\u00a0(Bloomsbury: 2004). The lecture was introduced by Dr Gavin Francis<\/a>.<\/p>\n
